Sam Winters
Chairman
President of Lyndon Steel Company in Winston-Salem, Sam has been a member of First Wesleyan Church for more than 10 years, and has served on Providence Place's board since 2006. He has throughout his career been an active participant in business and civic organizations, including Girls Athletic Association of High Point, YMCA of High Point and the First Wesleyan Management Board. Sam attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Ray Jessup
Vice-Chair
A furniture manufacturer's representative who is past President of Virginia/Carolinas Home Furnishings Representative's Association, Ray is a member of First Wesleyan Church and headed the church's Greeter Ministry for 10 years. He volunteers at Oak Hollow Thrift Shop and worked many years on the Living Christmas Tree. Ray attended Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, NC.
Chester Wooten
Chester is CEO and Business Partner of Sedgewick/CCF Industries, a high-end contract furniture manufacturer, specializing in hospitality, healthcare, luxury stadium sky-box and corporate furnishings. Previous employers include Loewenstein Furniture Group and Shelby Williams Industries. Chester holds an MBA and an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Business. He serves in many leadership roles in First Wesleyan Church and Wesleyan Christian Academy.
Ron Nelson
A 30-year veteran at Lilly Industries as a Senior Chemist, Ron earned his B.S. from High Point University and is an enduring presence within First Wesleyan Church. He serves in the Sheppard Ministry, sits on the Benevolence Committee, and has served as an Education Board member and as Building Committee Chair. Ron also volunteers at High Point Regional Hospital as a dispatcher.
Dr. Kenneth Shull, MD
Dr. Shull has been a practicing surgeon in High Point since 1979, and is affiliated with the Cornerstone Surgery Group. He is a member of First Wesleyan Church and a graduate of the University of South Carolina. Ken earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina - Charleston and completed a fellowship in Academic Surgical Unit at St. Mary's Hospital Medical School of London, England. Dr. Shull's research has been published in a number of international surgical journals.
Brian Gavigan
Brian is a long-time resident of High Point and a partner in the law firm Wyatt, Early, Harris, Wheeler. As a former member of the Air Force JAG Corps, Brian oversaw all legal matters for Air Force hospitals on the West Coast. A member of Green Street Baptist Church, Brian is very active in youth basketball in the community.
